Garden Study

5x7 inch oil on linen canvas
Available in a Daily Paintworks Auction- Starting bid $28
SOLD

I painted this a few weeks ago at Cheekwood and was not happy with it at the time. It grew on me a little after having it in my studio. I think it is good to post the ones you are not so happy with, so you can see your  progress, where you are improving and where you need to improve. It has helped me to see artist I worship share paintings that did not turn out so well. It is all a learning process and such a beautiful journey!

Wow - I think this is outstanding, Carol. You not only captured the light beautifully, but you picked a great vantage spot. Your design is great!

Lovely brushwork and the green/violet colors are so nice together :)

Love the looseness you have been exhibiting in your recent work Carol - fine little piece of art!

Thanks, Julie!! I so admire your work, so this made me feel better about it! I just have to keep getting out. With the heat in Tennessee the last few days I have not ventured out much. :)

Susan, thanks so much for your reassurance on the plein air ventures. I am always not so sure if it is a venture I should continue. I do love being out in nature and having all the colors right before me. Everyone's comments really lifted my spirits today. Thank you!!

I like this one! Plein air is HARD! Or I think it is. I've gotten fairly good and doing the beach scenes, but doing other landscapes so fast is hard for me, so I can relate.
